AFC launches online course aimed at club management

November 10 – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has launched a new Club Management Programme (ACMP) aimed at raising the professional and administrative standards of clubs across the continent – a 10-month, fully online course designed to equip Asia’s football leaders with the tools to run sustainable, modern football operations.

The initiative falls under the AFC’s Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE), the confederation’s education platform, which has already produced training for administrators, coaches and female leaders.

This takes things a step further and is the first time the AFC has focused an entire curriculum on club-level management – from governance and financial sustainability to digital growth and community responsibility.

AFC General Secretary Datuk Seri Windsor John described the programme as a “strategic investment in leadership and sustainability,” adding that it aims to ensure “clubs and Member Associations remain at the forefront of advancing Asian football.”

The programme’s scope is ambitious. Participants will study 10 modules spanning financial governance, innovation, brand engagement and stakeholder alignment – with each module delivered through five live online session led by a mix of academics and industry practitioners.

The AFC says the course is open to club executives, league administrators and senior management across Asia, with nominations accepted from Member Associations and leagues. Independent applications from graduates of previous AFC education programmes can also be accepted.

The course aims to help local executives drive commercial growth, enhance governance and build community-minded institutions at a time when football in the region is becoming increasingly professional and competitive.
