Malaysian league agrees wide randing deal with digital disruptor Ryt Bank

October 27 – The Malaysian Football League (MFL) has announced a partnership with Ryt Bank in a deal that positions the fintech firm as both the Official Digital Banking Partner and Official VAR Technology Partner of the Malaysian League.

The agreement marks a bold step for Malaysian football, pairing the country’s top professional competition with one of the most disruptive forces in the financial technology sector. It’s also the first time a digital bank has taken on a dual role supporting both the league’s commercial and technological operations.

MFL President Dato’ Ab Ghani Hassan said the partnership underlines the league’s shift toward a more modern and innovation-driven era.

“We warmly welcome Ryt Bank to the MFL family,” he said. “This collaboration reflects the new direction of Malaysian football — modern, professional and technology-led. It also sends a clear message that the Malaysian League is an attractive platform for major brands looking to connect with fans nationwide.”

The partnership will see Ryt Bank’s branding integrated across league platforms and matchday environments, while also powering Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology in domestic competitions.

Ryt Bank CEO Melvin Ooi said the company’s involvement in football was a natural extension of its mission to make technology accessible and inclusive.

“Football unites Malaysians from every background. That spirit aligns with our goal to make digital finance simpler, fairer and more connected to everyday life,” he said. “As the VAR technology partner, we’re proud to support greater transparency and fairness in the game – proof that when technology and national pride come together, we can do the Ryt thing for football and for Malaysia.”

Ryt Bank, which offers AI-driven financial tools including Ryt AI, High Daily Interest Savings, Ryt Card, and Ryt PayLater, plans to run a series of fan engagement activations at selected stadiums throughout the season. These events will promote financial literacy and awareness of digital banking in a more interactive, community-focused format.

No value or term was given for the deal.
