FOX commits to all 104 World Cup matches on its main channel and FS1 in US

February 2 – FOX Sports has made its intentions clear, ahead of the summer football festival, and that’s to go big.

As the English-language home of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the US, FOX has unveiled a broadcast schedule that will deliver 340 hours of first-run coverage, including a record 70 matches on the FOX broadcast network, more than double its 2022 output.

All 104 matches will air live across FOX (70) and FS1 (34), stream live and on demand via the FOX Sports App and FOX One, and be available in 4K. Forty matches will land in primetime. From the Round of 16 onward, every game airs on FOX.

In announcing the slate, FOX Sports CEO and executive producer Eric Shanks said: “FIFA is putting on the biggest World Cup in history, and FOX Sports is living up to that standard. Our broadcast schedule affirms FOX is truly going to be America’s home for the beautiful game over a span of 39 incredible days. We look forward to bringing the country together for its 250th birthday with all the world here for the greatest event on the planet.”

With an expanded field, FOX will be asking viewers to invest in dozens of matches that, on paper, would be a hard sell in the best of times. Maintaining interest will hinge on production choices involving clear storytelling, informed commentary, and the discipline to make low-stakes games feel like a ‘must-see event’ rather than background noise.

Fox’s streaming channel, Tubi, will simulcast the opening ceremony and two early marquee matches in 4K for free, while launching a dedicated World Cup hub with shoulder programming and original content, including docuseries Destination World Cup 2026.
