February 10 – Brazilian club Corinthians and Chinese car manufacturer BYD have signed a one-year sponsorship deal until the end of 2026.

This season, BYD’s logo will feature on the shoulder of the Corinthians shirt after the parties agreed a one-season deal. The terms of the sponsorship were not disclosed.

BYD had already teamed up with Corinthians for the Brazilian Cup final last year and this year’s Super Cup, a 1-0 victory against Flamengo.

The manufacturer of electric vehicles is a market leader in Brazil. The company is investing a R$5.5 billion (€880 million) to build a large-scale manufacturing complex in Camaçari, Bahia. Sponsoring Corinthians, together with Flamengo the most supported club in Brazil, will give the Chinese company even more exposure.

The BYD deal follows partnerships with Broto Legal, Remiss Online and Tecnogera that were signed earlier this year. EZZE Seguros has extended its deal until June and Frimesa, displayed on the left shoulder, has renewed its sponsorship until the end of the season. Banco BMG will remain on the sleeves until December 2026, paying R$12 million (€1.93 million) per year.

Betting operator Esportes da Sorte will remain the club’s title sponsor.

In 2026, Corinthians project to generate sponsorship revenue of R$255 million (€41 million), up almost 50 per cent from last year. It will be a much-needed boost to the finances of the club which recently negotiated to repackage R$1.2 billion in debts.
